Between mid-April and the end of May, Nightingales sing their unique courtship after-dark song.

Circle around the campfire and be transported with a night of folklore, music, story, food and drink as we join in celebration of nature at her most expressive, creative and mysterious. SWN is neither a concert nor is it an ecological guided walk, it's a work of theatre and a journey-defying category. Come ready to be transformed and never see our land in the same way again.

The Nightingale’s Song

In Spring 2023, Emergence Magazine spent time in the Sussex woods with SWN’s Sam Lee for their 40-minute mini-feature film ‘The Nightingale's Song’.

Maggi Hambling: Nightingale Night

Inspired by a night with SWN, renowned artist Maggi Hambling created a striking new series of paintings capturing the nightingale's song in gold against black grounds. This illuminating exhibition and accompanying book explore the songbird's rich artistic and cultural legacy across thousands of years.

BBC R4 Anniversary Broadcast

Sam marked the 100th anniversary of cellist Beatrice Harrison's duet with a Nightingale in this special broadcast. Featuring cellist Francesca Ter-Berg, violinist Flora Curzon and viola player Laurel Pardue.
