Manuel Linhares is an acclaimed Portuguese jazz singer, known for his versatility as a performer, composer, and educator. Splitting his time between New York and Porto, Portugal, he has made a significant impact on the global jazz scene with three albums of original music, earning recognition both in Portugal and internationally.
Linhares has collaborated with renowned artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Judy Niemack, Theo Bleckmann, Gretchen Parlato, Rhiannon, Guillermo Klein, David Binney, António Loureiro, and Meredith Monk, among others. His music blends jazz with contemporary Portuguese influences, fusing an Atlantic and Mediterranean melancholia with the rhythmic vitality of modern jazz and Brazilian grooves.
A leading voice in Portuguese jazz, Linhares has performed across Europe, North America, and Brazil.
